When you make an application for residence and sign up to a licence agreement, Campus Living Villages Limited and its affiliated companies ("CLV") collects personal information from you, including your name, your age and sex, nationality, your postal address, your phone and e-mail details, emergency contact details, and if you are under the age of 18 details of a parent or guardian who will act as a guarantor.
CLV respects your right to privacy and will only process personal information you provide in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and other applicable privacy laws.
CLV will limit the use of your personal data to:
- Conducting our business of providing accommodation and associated services and performing our internal administration and operations;
- Maintaining records for the proper administration of the student village on behalf of the owner of the village;
- Advising you of matters which are relevant to your application to be offered a place at the village or your residence at the village if you accept a place which is offered to you, including goods and services on offer by CLV; and
- Maintaining our relationship with you as a resident of the village; and complying with legislative and regulatory requirements and otherwise fulfilling our legal obligations.
CLV may transfer your personal information to countries that are outside the European Economic Area (including to Australia, where CLV's server is currently located). Please be aware that countries which are outside the European Economic Area may not offer the same level of data protection as United Kingdom, although our collection, storage and use of your personal data will continue to be in line with this privacy notice.
If you do not pay all monies owed by you under the license agreement, CLV may provide relevant personal information to a debt collection agency. If you are under the age of 18, we may disclose information to the guarantor named in the license agreement. CLV may also disclose your personal information to third parties in order to comply with any legal obligation or any order of a law enforcement authority.
